At Kyeema Support Services our Short Term Accommodation (Respite) offers a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for people with disability and complex needs. It’s also an opportunity for families and carers to take a well-earned break, knowing their loved one is in capable, compassionate hands.

We take a person-centred approach to care. Our trained and experienced staff work closely with each guest to understand their individual needs, interests and routines. Whether it’s helping with daily living tasks, encouraging social connection, or supporting participation in community activities, we tailor each stay to suit the person.

What is Short Term Accommodation (STA)?

STA is temporary accommodation for people with disabilities. It’s often used as respite - giving carers a break while providing the participant with support in a different setting.

Who can access STA?

Anyone with STA funding in their NDIS plan can access this service. Private bookings may also be available on request.

How long can someone stay?

Stays can range from a single night to several weeks, depending on the participant's needs, goals, and available funding.

What is Included in an STA stay?

A typical STA stay includes accommodation, meals, personal care, and support with daily living. We also offer activities tailored to each person's interests and preferences.

Will I have the same Support Workers each time?

We aim to provide consistent staffing wherever possible. All team members are briefed on your support needs and preferences.

Can staff help with medications and personal care?

Yes - Our trained staff can assist with medication management, personal hygiene, meals and any other support you may need.

Is STA only for adults?

No - We support both children and adults. Each stay is tailored to suit the person's age, stage of life, and support needs.
